然而，上述的現象並不是單一原因，如同黃哲斌所說，他說自己非常關心媒體生態，他認為媒體生態的問題比假新聞還難解決，假新聞目前看來還可以分類，對症下藥，然而，媒體生態卻是牽一髮動全身。
關於如何對症下藥，也許大家都希望有個機器人，可以幫自己自動過濾不正確的資訊，然而，無論是機器人還是演算法等技術，都難以幫人們進行價值判斷，甚至有言論自由被侵害的疑慮。黃哲斌認為新聞小幫手也許是現狀的一劑藥帖，王向榮則表示，過去他把新聞想得太簡單，所以新聞小幫手容易流於價值觀的爭辯，未來他不再打臉假新聞，而是著重在讓使用者去質疑跟查證。他表示也許會在臉書上新增懷疑的選項，列出每日熱門懷疑的新聞內容，讓使用者針對每日熱門懷疑去查證。
黃哲斌說：「不能用立場來覆蓋你的言論，你是根據事實在說話，還是立場呢？」網路新聞問題不會靠吃藥就好，更重要的是每個人都必須為自己的言論負責。就如同黃哲斌所提到的美國知名脫口秀主持人Alex Jones，Alex Jones過去曾在節目上說美國校園槍擊案是假的，黃哲斌認為Alex Jones必須把支持自己言論的證據拿出來，不能只是說這是我相信的。無論是個人或是新聞媒體機構都應該根據「事實」來說話。
以下筆者摘錄一段「新聞急先鋒」的對話來勉勵彼此，希望劇情也能成為現實：
也許會感到驚訝，現在仍有一些偉大的新聞工作者，他們有聰明的頭腦及多年的經驗，和對新聞工作的堅定熱忱

但現在這些聲音只是少數，當馬戲團到來，小丑橫行，他們（少數聲音）變得無力對抗，他們被打敗了
