根據ETtoday《新聞雲》報導，海外學人翁達瑞教授日前又以高虹安立委論文品質一事，嚴厲批判高委員、高委員的指導教授李傑先生和高委員所屬民眾黨等，是蓄意扭曲自己先前的評論，並且要求渠等限期必需道歉。
筆者對於有無「曲解」，因屬法律層次故不便表示意見；但是，對於翁教授持續質疑該論文品質一事，筆者則願意以僅具英文文法一般水準者的立場，表示以下的看法。
為方便比對，下文想先引用翁教授從高委員論文中摘下的同一段：
The data collection infrastructure of Company B is not insufficient. Although the equipment in SMT process line are quite automatic, the PLC or PC-based controllers of SMT machines are not capable of being internet connected. Thus, most of the process data collection from manufacturing plant other than quality inspection is still recorded by pen and paper. After papers are collected, an assistant will input the data to the excel sheets and store in a certain file folder. Each workstation has its own sampling rate of data collection, which increase the efforts on data synchronization.
下文是翁教授對於上文段絡裡自認文法錯誤的評語：
第一句 ：「is not insufficient」屬重覆表達，語意完全相反。正確語法應該是「is insufficient」或「is not sufficient」。
第二句 ： 「equipment」是集合名詞，只有單數用法。若後面接「are」，必須明顯有多項設備。
第三句 ： 句首的「collection」是贅字，後面「recorded」語意相同。
第三句 ： 「recorded by pen and paper」語意不明，更正確的用法是「collected with pen and paper」。（用紙筆收集）
