許多人都會把 invoice 跟 receipt 搞混，但 invoice 是指買家購買商品但尚未付款時，賣家給的明細，比較像「帳單」的概念，提醒你要記得付錢。receipt 則是付完款後由店家提供的證明，也就是「發票」，別再把這兩個字搞錯啦！此外還要注意 receipt 唸作 /rɪˈsit/，中間的 p 不發音唷。
A: I would like to return some items.
A: 我要把這些衣服退掉。
B: Okay, do you have a receipt?
B: 好的，麻煩您出示發票唷。
A: Here you go.
A: 給你。

殺價
（X） kill the price
（O）bargain
雖然「殺時間，打發時間」的英文會說 kill time，但「殺價」可不是 kill the price，而是要用 bargain /ˈbɑrgən/ 這個字，例如：bargain with sb. (和某人殺價)。
A: Did you go for a big shop?
A: 你是去瘋狂大採購嗎？
B: Yeah, I bought a lot of meat and vegetables at the wet market.
B: 對啊，我去菜市場買了一堆肉跟蔬菜。
A: I try to avoid wet markets. I hate the stench.
A: 我不去菜市場，那裡的味道不太好聞。
B: Really? I actually quite like the smell of all the fresh ingredients. Plus, you can always bargain with vendors.
B: 真的嗎？我其實還蠻喜歡新鮮食材的味道。而且你還可以和攤販殺價。
A: Alright! It does save money!
A: 好吧！那確實可以省錢啦！
